problem about pdf file
Hi Dear all
i am using Red hat linux . Recently i have installed gv.rpm file . But due to this my pdf file open in gv . But i want that my file will open in Adobe Reader by default . Any body can help me regarding my this problem . |
This entirely depends on how are you opening the file. Most file browsers / desktops will show a context menu with an "open with" option on it.
Web browsers usually have an option somewhere to let you specify file associations. etc. etc. etc. I really can't be any more concrete without knowing any more details on what are you doing. |

hi dear
actual my default reader set gv view now .(i do't know how it got set default reader) . previous it was pdf reader as default reader for pdf files . I want adobe reader as default reader . mean when i will double click on pdf file , should open in adobe reader not in gv view . |
Sayan already provided the solution, but maybe you missed the relevant point. I can try to rephrase (we assume you're using the default GNOME desktop manager)
1) Right-click on a PDF file and select Properties 2) Switch to the Open With tab 3) Select the desired default application from the list 4) Close From now on, all the PDF files will be open using the selected application. If you prefer to set-up things from the command line, here is a good starting point. In addition you can check the official Red Hat and/or GNOME documentation to find out. |
thanks dear
