Printing with cups

Hello,

I´m using Oracle Enterprise Linux.

I need to use cups but I'm not able to configurate it.

- How can I test status cups?
- How can I add a new destination?
- How can I enable url http://ip_server:631?

Regards

To enable cupse you should be able to do
Code:
chkconfig cupsd on
or if you are using version 7 of oracle enterprise linux
Code:
systemctl enable cups
To start it you would then use
Code:
service cupsd start
or for version 7
Code:
systemctl start cups
May have to change cupsd to cups if that doesn't work.

To change the IP and add new printers you can edit /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and change the listen directive and you can also add printers in there. Or after you change the IP for the listener you can then just go to that server and add it through the cups web page.

Hi, editing /etc/cups/cupsd.conf file, following steps provided by jdk I can connect and configure printers with a remote machine. Thank you all!
