printing port always busy...

Hello to everybody!

I've installed my printer (a Lexmark Z25) using the CUPS Web Interface, but I can't print anything because when I try it I always get the same message: "usb port is busy..."

mario@nb-mac:~ $ dmesg | grep print
drivers/usb/class/usblp.c: usblp0: error -71 reading printer status

root@nb-mac:/home/mario # lpinfo -v
network socket
network http
network ipp
direct z35:/dev/usb/lp0
direct z600:/dev/usb/lp0
network lpd
direct parallel:/dev/lp0
direct usb://Lexmark/Z25-Z35
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp1
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp2
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp3
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp4
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp5
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp6
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp7
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp8
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp9
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp10
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp11
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp12
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp13
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp14
direct usb:/dev/usb/lp15
network smb

This problem fills up my disk with logs in the /var/log/syslog and /var/log/kern.log, so I had to remove the printer.

I see lp0 port is listed twice and the printer is in other different device. But, how can I remove those devices? and, how can I make my printer run?

If someone of you could help me I'd appreciate it a lot.

Simply this printer won't work with Linux as there are no drivers. I have one and tried for some time to get it working but ended up with the same problems as you. You'd be better off looking for a printer that is supported.

Once you get your driver, you can use it with Debian: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...74&postcount=1
