Printing documents
I am running topologilinux 3 on an XP partition... it is based on Slackware 9.
It's all going pretty well, except I can't print, and I don't get what KDEPrint does at all ... it just prints out all this garbage when I try and print a document. I have gone through all the printer manager stuff and selected the port lp0 and the printer Epson Stylus Color 400 but I can't get it to just simply print a document. Can you give me some settings or something so that I can print? Even printing text files would be a start! What do I have to do? Many thanks. kyrk |
Works with stcolor driver using the -dSoftweave parameter. Also works with uniprint driver and stc500p.upp and stc500ph.upp parameter files, but printing at 720 dpi is VERY slow this way. Implements a subset of ESC/P2 language.
I found that info at linuxprinting.org and you can also dl drivers there. Are you using cups? It says it doesn't work with pjl. And its recommended driver is gimp-print. |
