printer driver (canon pixma ip2600)
 
Hi; I am using Mint, I would like to dump Windows forever but I can't because I can not print anything in Linux. Closest I came to a driver was a Canon web site (Europe), downloaded what looked like what I needed. Clicked on open, expand, whatever was there, response always the same,"no printer driver for Canon etc. What am I missing?

Tossed Canon printer, end of problem.

cannon is very well known for NOT supporting Linux or Apple

the EU cannon site is about the only exception , but only for a few products

just what did you download and just how did you try to install it ?

the instructions "should" be on the page you got it from
