Printer does not print

Hi, I have just installed Linux Mint 14 Cinnamon. I connected the printer and it seems it recognized it. However, when I do a test print, nothing happens. Moreover, when I try to print something on LibreOffice, a notification appears and said "Printing has been canceled".

My printer is Lexmark X2670 (2600 series). Thank

This printer is listed as a paper weigh on Linuxprinting.org. See this link

-->https://www.openprinting.org/printer.../Lexmark-X2670

Lexmark does not provide a linux driver. See this download page.

-->http://www.dodownload.net/drivers/le...er-driver.html

I would recommend you stay away from Lexmark printers for linux. If you can not see your way clear to buy a printer that has support, you can install v-box and install some flavour of windbloze, amd install the printer/scanner.

You can look at LinuxPrinting.org for printer that are well supported. Brother printers and HP printers have much better support. Check before you buy.

Camorri, Lexmark is a very good Linux printer. Ive used their higher end laser printers and they just work no drivers required. Now their cheap low end printers and all-in-one printers are a royal PITA just like all brands including HP.

as this is a low end all-in-one printer the odds of it working well on anything is questionable.

this printer is neither PCL or PS compliant thus it will not work with Linux via cups and the lpr commands.

My comments are not related to the quality of the hardware. Lexmark just doesn't make much effort to support open source ( no drivers). HP does. Take a look at Linuxprinting.org. They have a database that lists working and not working printers.

You are correct on PS and PCL printers, they will work without drivers. That is true for most manufacturers.
