Print screen ???

hi

I use RH 7.2 linux.

When I click on the Konsole Icon from the KDE desktop, it brings up a Konsole window. In this window I type some command and get the output on the same window.

What I want to know is HOW do I capture the image of this Konsole window and print it??

In windows, if I have a window open, and press the Print Screen Key, the image on the screen is copied to clipboard which can then be opened in an image editor and printed.
Similarly, is there a way to do that in KDE - RH Linux 7.2 ???

Yes you can do just that. Just press PrintScreen and then copy it to any image editor. You will get the image.

hi

I pressed Printscreen in KDE, but that didnt work. Are you sure whether it's possible to press print screen from KDE and copy it to any image editor, because most of the keyboards available today are for Windows. I am not sure if that would work on linux.

run the command
ksnapshot
It's been a little while since I used RH7 but there should be a grab button to save just a console window.

I just use the gimp
Like this: File -> Acquire -> Screenshot
You can choose whether to get a fullscreen, or just one window.
Then right-click the image to get the menu, File -> Save as
Done.
