Question Prevent ProFTPD From Starting

I am using XAMPP in my Linux Mandriva 2007 machine to run PHP scripts with Apache as the web server & MySQL as the database. When I issue the command

/opt/lampp/lampp start

to start XAMPP, along with Apache, PHP & MySQL, ProFTPD also starts. How do I prevent ONLY ProFTPD from starting?

Thanks,

Ron

You can run:
Code:
/opt/lampp/lampp stopftp
