Preserving your existing Home partition when installing a new distro

I realise that a lot of members know how to do this procedure, but for the benefit of more recent arrivals who wish to preserve their existing Home partition when installing a new Linux distro, I have written a short blog at:

yep, I've been doing this seperate /home partition thing for a while now. It really saves a lot of time having to backup home and redoing things.
