Powerpoint to video
 
I'm trying to convert powerpoint presentations to video. After conversions I want to post them to my site.

this is a very roundabout way of doing it but it should work,

1. export your slids as jpeg or gif
2. use the gimp or similar program to convert them to an animated gif (adjusting the timing inbetween frames to the desired time)
3. use mendocder to convert the animated gif to an avi (or whatever format)
4. use ffmpeg to convert the video to mpeg (unless avi is ok or you can get mencoder to use a format other then avi)
5. use mplex to add the audio track

Close OpenOffice.org presentation software and open Windows Movie Maker. The program is pretty straightforward. You can use the online help to figure out how to add images, time your slides and add music or narration. Save the movie as a high quality movie.

Use your DVD authoring software to set up the menus and to add the movie to your DVD project. Burn your DVD.

Some DVD authoring software includes a slide show tool. You could also try that instead of Windows Movie Maker to create your slide show. Microsoft also has a dedicated slide show program called Photo Story that is available as a free download as part of the "Genuine Windows" promotion.
