power management
I didn't know if to post this in this thread or in the laptop thread, so if I put it in the wrong place I apologize.
I know Linux has some kind of power management that suspends the system or something like that. But I was wondering if there was a program or feature or something along those lines that turns off the hard drive or the monitor after X amount of minutes. Also, my system is a P4-M which uses SpeedStep. I was wondering if Linux uses it at all, and how to adjust any settings. Thanks. Mike |
for the hard drive, try using hdparm
As for the monitor, if you are using X, you can use the xscreensaver |
