due to power failure my system got off, linux red hat 7.1, now require me to scan file system for error. what are the command for checking file system error (like fsck etc.) Please let me know |

IF you're at a stage where you should enter root password etc.... then you should run fsck /dev/hda5 assumingf you want to check hda5... |

yes i can boot to linux. but i want to know how check it now because when a tried FSCk command it gives message file system is mounted do not perform this operation on mounted device. Please let me know how can do this task bye |
well, you don't need to... it'll check itself on the first reboot after failing. if you really think it's necessary, boot your distro cd's on rescue mode
