Postfix Relay Server

Morning guys,
is there a way to make postfix reference more than one relay server. That is using a server as a backup in case the primary fails?

thanks

Hi,
If your server is just relay server, you can use two identical setup with two IP addresses. Two MX records setup.
or
You can use VIP for service ip and one MX record.
For IP failover, you can use heartbeat package.

If you are setup more than relay server, that will be different story.

Morning and thanks for the response. Actually I was hoping I could modify the "relayhost = $mydomain" to something like "relayhost = 192.168.0.1". This works with one server. However if I trying something like
relayhost = 192.168.0.1
relayhost = 192.168.0.2

Then it seems to works only with the last entry and does not seem to fail back. should this work and can this work?

Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

I don't think postfix config will accept multiple relayhost.
The other way is
DNS records
relay.abc.com 192.168.0.1
relay.abc.com 192.168.0.2

postfix config
relayhost = relay.abc.com
