Postfix on Mandrake 9.1
 

We're begun setting up a Mandrake 9.1 machine to use as our mail gateway. It is replacing a firewall solution which included an embedded mail gateway.

The old solution would look up an MX record for the recipient domain and connect to that domains mail gateway. Our ISP (aka AT&T) doesn't support mail-relaying (obviously).

I haven't found any information which tells me whether or not Postfix will do this for us. All it needs to do is accept mail from the public side and route it to an internal SMTP server, and vice-versa.

I'd welcome alternative solutions as well.

I want to do the very same thing. I would like to set up a Mandrake 9.1 box as an email gateway. I'm interested in using Mailscanner to filter our mail. I'm new to setting up an email server, having experence only with email clients (kmail, evolution, outlook and outlook express). I currently use Mandrake 9.1 as a file share server for a windose network. Our email server is located at the ISP, so a mail gateway is what I'd like to setup.
