Postfix log file

Does anyone know where postfix logs errors? For some reason I can't start postfix with
Code:
service postfix start
but I can't find any error messages in either /var/log/messages or dmesg. There is no logfile specified in /etc/postfix/main.cf

Anyone any idea?

Figured it out. Just in case anyone else has the same problem the errors go to /var/log/maillog

You can also set your logs files individualy through /etc/syslog.conf
