Hey, I got Mandrake 8.0 and was wondering if I could set up postfix to POP3 email server or IMAP????

Postfix is a SMTP server only. It has no configuration for pop3 or imap..
You can install the imap package from your Mandrake cd..
They'll work together..... at least they should

Well I do got IMAP installed though it does like to be connected from outside source (i think)... How do you configure it so that many can connect and from work or your friends house???

The firewall wasn't forwarding port 143 to the server... With that all said and done... Now I need to know how to set it up to make the dang thing faster!!!! Is it get the buffer errors I read so much at Mandrake Forum??? Or how do I check for errors???

no solution only more problems !!

I’m trying to setup postfix and cyrus imap.

Postfix works fine I can send mail to everybody in my domain and to the “outside” world.

Sending mail from the imap server to the internet works also fine.

The problems arise when I retrieve email with fetchmail . The email are not visible within the imap.

I see in the maillog that the messages are coming in but not delivered properly to the right mailbox ( aliases are setup )


Did anybody had this problem before and knows the solution ?
