Post Possibility of escaping risk in linux server


Hello,

Is there a possibility in linux when accidentally press Ctrl+Alt+del to get out of this risk can we make any changes in configuration file.


If yes can anybody please specify the config changes and path of the file?

hi,

usually it is located in /etc/inittab and you should find something that ends like:

ca::ctrlaltdel:/sbin/shutdown -t3 -r now

replace that with some echo like this:

ca:12345:ctrlaltdel:/bin/echo "CTRL-ALT-DEL is disabled"

and reload init with "init -q"

this should work

It depends on the linux distribution/version you are running. For distributions using sysinit then the posted method will work.
