porting linux in IMX31 processor
 
hai
iam working in porting of linux in arm based IMX31 processor for a application.. i just strucked in cross compilation of GTK, GNOMe libraries for creating LTIB .. do u have any idea about this...please help me

Debian and Gentoo have some good tools in doing this. You may have to edit a few files, but both distros (at least Debian) already run on ARM chips.

But we are doing in SUSE linux, if u have any idea regarding this ,please share .give me the link where can i get this..

SUSE will be more difficult to implement. You may have to hack the SUSE-patched Linux kernel so it supports ARM-like architectures (I think the official kernel only supports axp alpha, i386, ia64, ppc, s390, and sparc architectures). If you are using SUSE only because you wish to implement the userland software bundled with it, it will be much easier for you to use Gentoo or Debian and compile the userland software for ARM (i.e. you could make either of these distros look and feel like SUSE).
