What is a port

Unless you know what service you're looking for or a specific port no amount of commands will help you. Please elaborate and research more of the subject using Google before asking a blanket question like that. Put some effort into your own question. What do you really want?

Hi maddyfreaks,

You can get the port number details using the netstat command.
Learn the available options using man command.

You should know what does a port number mean. As sag47 said..you should do some ground work before you ask something here.Use Google for the info.
