pm-suspend vs. alternatives. gnome vs. enlightenment suspend.
$ echo mem > /sys/power/state
how does this command differ from pm-suspend? When I run it, my screen doesn't return with my laptop (it stays blank) the same way pm-suspend used to until i edited the configuration file for my laptop:
If I can find out how these differ I may fix my latest suspend problem. Everything works fine now when I'm running gnome. But if I'm running e16 (Enlightenment) then I can't suspend. There is no suspend button and the computer doesn't suspend when I close the lid. If, however, I hit pm-suspend from the command line then the computer suspends problem free. Where should I begin my search on how to make the computer suspend when I close the lid while running e16?
