Printer installed in linux Mandriva 2010.0 always disabled.

How to resolved.

Windows computer connected to printer always need to reconnect.

Please help!!!

If you want help you need to be more helpful yourself ...what do you mean windows printer? Is it connected to a windows machine? Or is this a brand name? Your question leaves one curious.

sorry for that what i mean is the printer is installed in linux mandriva 2010.0 and 3 windows xp computer is connected. but when i turn off the computer (linux). and when i turn on the pc the printer is disabled and need to configure it again, to be able windows xp computer can connect again.

windows connected via samba server.

Printer Name:HP Laserjet Professional P1566

How did you configure the printer?
Did you configure it using CPUS?

If used CUPS then do this:

Code:
chkconfig cups on
chkconfig keeps the cups service ON even after system restart

Code:
chkconfig --list cups
Above command list the runlevel at which the service is on.

its not working sir,,

printer still disabled when i turn off the pc..

i just enable cups in the start up services.

i have installed printing packages, and when i connect the printer it is automatically
detected and installed w/ driver.

and using samba server i shared printer to windows machine..

the problem is when i turn off my computer windows machine not able to print.
my pc is the one can print on the printer..

when i tried to network in linux machine using windows i cant find the printer
but when i configure the printer and enable it..

its ok for this time but for tomorrow i need to configure it again and again.

Have you checked Service Settings & startup aplications?

I already solved the problem sir.
Re-installation of Mandriva 2010.0 and re-installation of hplip
and follow the setup needed by the hplip to be able to install.
