Please help in rpm files for Installing SNMP on RedHat 4.??
Dears,
I need to install SNMP on RedHat 4 but the server is not connected to internet so cannot use up2date command to download and install SNMP,
So can you please help me to know which files are required to download so i can FTP them to server and install manually, and where to download from and the installation guide if possible!!
It looks like you need to install the smart package manager (http://labix.org/smart) on your server. The version of smart for Fedora Core 4 should work with your RedHat 4. A good place to start would be rpm.pbone.net (search for smart-*rpm and smart-gui-*rpm). Once that package manager is installed, you will be able to examine any RPM package in detail before you install it, including what it conflicts with and what it needs. In that manner, you will be able to figure out exactly what SNMP needs.
Thank you dear for your reply,
but it's not allowed to install any software on the server,
So i was hopping to get the exact rpm needed for SNMP so i will install them manually..

Then you need to install it using dvd. If you have dvd of your required packages, you do not need internet connection.
These are the rpm files of the package. http://rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2html/se...query=net-snmp
