please help! How do we make our Linux RedHat server recognize the new LUNs (ASM)?

Please help. We are adding some new LUNS within ASM-oracle tonight and I need to know the steps to make our Linux RedHat host recognize the new LUNs, once they have been added. What are the general steps for doing this? Can I just reboot afterwards and we will see the new devices?

It appears we are using LVM on the host. But multipath -ll does not return anything.

God Bless....

Kevin

I should think a reboot would work, but I don't know anything about ASM. Now if these were LUNs on a SAN connected via fibre I'd have some more advice..

Then before rebooting, try
Code:
echo "- - -" > /sys/class/scsi_host/hostX/scan
where X is whatever host it's on. (It's harmless to rescan other hosts if you're not sure). You'll probably also have to restart multipathd.
