Unhappy Please help!! Error 6 kernel not found.

Please help!!! I have been working around with this for a few days and still can't get it through!!!!!!

I am trying to install Mandrake 9.0 on an PCI SCSI hard disk. The installation process looks fine but when the system boots it hangs.

Here are the last lines of the error messages:

mount: error 6 mounting ext3 flagss Mounted devfs on /dev
Freeing unused kernel memory: 136k freed
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.
_ (blinking)

There was once when I could load the failsafe mode. The problem is that I formatted the harddisk thinking I could do a successful installation!!!

It is possible that your botloader is configured wrong. If you made a boot floppy during the install see if you can boot with the boot floppy.

You can also use your Mandrake install disk as a rescue system. Boot the install disk, go into rescue mode, and try to get rescue to boot your HD.
