"please give a correct solution"


hi everybody,


I am interested in using linux, and got a pack of cd's as linux elv4 for installation. I was using Xp, and its having a sata harddisk, linux is not recognizing my hard drive. Why is it so. Im getting irritated, how can i make my hard drive detected by linux. can you give a direct solution. If u suggest me drivers, please give some url's to download.

I have no idea what "linux elv4" is. Might be some old distribution from before sata drives were invented. Get a new mainstream distibution. Look at the megathread for ideas.
