i am totally blank in CVS . i need some good links and basic tutorials for this

It gets a bit technical at times...but then again, cvs *is* technical, and using it can be quite intimidating at first.

how to connect using ext mode , i know it should just add opt ext. but cant to solve the rest.
explain the ext method pls

It depends on what program you're using as external means of connection. You can read a bit on using rsh as the :ext: mode here.
