Playing mp3 in RH9
 

dear people
i have RH9 and 3 user accounts plus root. i can play songs as root and one user but not able to play them when logged in as other users. i installed the mp3 encoders from gurulabs.com and songs are playing fine.
the message i get is
1. please select the proper plugin
2. another program is blocking your sound card
3. your sound card is not configured properly
please help!
i dont see any plug in option in xmms.
i dont know how to find if indeed another program is using the soundcard
i can hear the test sound perfectly alright

Red Hat does not include mp3 support anymore. But it dosn't mean that you can add it, get xmms-mp3.
