Pl2303 driver

Hi

Yes Firstly i am just checking the driver on my system as i said earlier that it works fine at windows using hyperterminal software.
My assignment is to check it at RHEL4 with kernel version-2.6.I downloaded the source code for kernel-2.4 but could not find for 2.6 kernel. In kernel-2.4 it is given that it can be used for higher versions too. In kernel-2.6 there is a builtin driver pl2303 that supports FT232R(USB to serial converter adaptor) so when i plugin the cable it automatically loaded the module.after using command "modprobe pl2303" it is shown in "lsmod".
now the confusion is that the "pl2303.c" file for kernel-2.4 and 2.6 are different then how can kernel-2.4 supports for higher version too. Secondly how would i know that prolific driver pl2303 has loaded? is "lsmod" command is enough or i have to see someother thing. Hyperterminal alternative in linux is gtkterm maybe i didnot try it.
I want to ask anyother way to see that my module has loaded completely.as it is builtin so i didnot apply the commands "make" and "make install" for compilation.am i right?
waiting for reply

The source files are in a "standard" kernel source :
'find /usr/src/ -name *2303*'
..../usr/src/linux-2.6.18.x.x/drivers/usb/serial/pl2303.c
..../usr/src/linux-2.6.18.x.x/drivers/usb/serial/pl2303.h
and
.../linux-2.6.21.5/drivers/usb/serial/pl2303.c
.../linux-2.6.21.5/drivers/usb/serial/pl2303.h
so I guess you can find it in a source matching yours.
PS.:You can also try : 'find /lib/modules -name *2303*'
Should give you this result
/lib/modules/2.6..../kernel/drivers/usb/serial/pl2303.ko
