pkg-config search path?

Hey again

I am trying to install a plugin for Gaim but when I type ./configure I get lots of text (the good kind i believe) but then I am told...

"Package gaim was not found in the pkg-config search path.
Perhaps you should add the directory containing `gaim.pc'
to the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable
No package 'gaim' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GAIM_CFLAGS
and GAIM_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details."

I have not got a clue what this means so I dont have any way to fix whatever the problem is. an someone explain what is giong on and help me to sort it please.

Thanks

Ironfistchamp

what distro are you using?
In order to compile the plugin you need the development package of gaim. So, if you are using an rpm based distro, (Fedora, mandrake, suse, etc), search for the rpm gaim-devel with the same version with the gaim rpm you have installed. If gaim was installed by your distro, search the CD's.
