Picasa on ubuntu 10.04

I liked to install picasa on my Ubuntu 10.04.
There for I need " picasa_3.0- current _amd64 .deb ", as I use a portable Dell 830, 64 bit, dual core.

Until now I did not succeed in downloading that package. Where can I find it.

Do they still have Picasa for Linux? I get this from their website..

That is correct. Google no longer supports picasa on linux.
But if I could get the file a mentionned, it couls be done.

This might work, someone has shared the 32-bit version here.

I found it at http://www.4shared.com/file/Le3_d2yx...rent_i386.html. I haven't downloaded it or installed it as I don't use Ubuntu.

I was able to find Picasa as an RPM at http://www.4shared.com/file/kMJppq1_...urrenti386.htm. That was able to install on Fedora 17. Its great! Another software package that I won't have to go to my Windows machine to run!

That's great. It is approcibly what I am looking for. The 64 bit version should have been better, but normally the 32 bit version should work fine too.

I wonder why Google discontinued this development? They support Chrome and Chromium on Linux and seem like great open source developers. Looking at Picasa it looks like a great implementation of Picasa on Windows from the 3.0 days (they are now at 3.9) Everything functions the same way, but better. It is much faster scanning for images on my Linux machine. I have about 300 Gigabytes worth of JPEGS that span over 15 years of photography.
