Exclamation PHP Netbeans

I am trying PHP for very first time n my Windows machine and I've installed Netbeans with all PHP plugins. But I am not able to get even the "Hello World" message.

Altough clicking the RUN button gives a url like "localhost/php/test.php" but the server seems not to be running.

And like MS Visual Studio I should not start the Apache Server and the Netbeans would take care of all that, automatically, I suppose.

Please guide me.

Net-beans won't start the server for you, root level permissions are required for apache.

Can you check that Apache is actually running?

Also have you setup Apache so that you can access the file via your web-browser?

Regards,
Nick.

Netbeans is not bundled with apache. You have to install and start that, too. It is not usual to connect an editor software with a web server. Eclipse and Zend Studio don't do that either.

It's an easy start that will suit a lot of needs. If you develop applications that need specific settings you may be better off with the single components. Zend server is an alternative (zend.com). We use that at work. It's an apache with an admin gui and some additional functionalties. There is a free community edition.
If you want to work professionally in that area you may want to get familiar with linux.
