PHP using NetBeans? NetBeans is an editor that you can use to write PHP code and debug it. But you do not use PHP that way, do you? You need apache server or any other web server to run the code. And if you mean to edit or write PHP code using NetBeans, you can install NetBeans PHP plugin for the same.

Yep, you need to install PHP and Apache in order to parse PHP local. You can install these using Synaptic Package Manager.

Please note, if you want to use MySQL too, you will need to install that as well.

You need to be root to do that. If you are using Ubuntu as your development machine, then look into sudo. You can use sudo cp /path/to/source /path/to/htdocs

Or you can change permissions to that directory. Maybe even change groups or add yourself to the specified group. That way you won't always have to login to root to do something there.
