Thumbs down PhatLinux Login Troubles

I'm having a lot of trouble logging into PhatLinux. I installed it, and now when it asks me to login, I type:
root [hit enter]
phatlinux [hit enter]

then it tells me LOGIN INCORRECT.

I can't change the password either...

I type:
passwd phatlinux

and it STILL won't let me login...What's the problem?

I'm using phatLinux 'cos I have -NO- other Hard Drive and I dont feel like formatting mine. Thank you very very much!

Are you possitive that phatlinux is the root password? The install should have asked you to give a password for root, or IS this the password you created? If that's true, the password IS case-sensitive so make sure you haven't capitalized anything that may not have been at install etc...Were you able to create a user at install as well and can you login using this one?

Re: PhatLinux Login Troubles

Ok, well...the username "root" is the default and the readme tells you to login with root and username as phatlinux. so I don't know the problem...maybe i'll try to reinstall it.

ok, not familiar with phatlinux.. but your saying that your logging as root, and the password is phatlinux right ? is that correct ??

can you boot into single mode then try to change root's password then.. passwd root
