Phantom Directery ?


Hi,

Bash reveals I have a Dir 4Gb:

ubuntu@ubuntu:/media/26BB87215F091FDD$ cd /media/4254e869-50a8-42ac-974b-df32c2f8c7d3/home/nnjond

ubuntu@ubuntu:/media/4254e869-50a8-42ac-974b-df32c2f8c7d3/home/nnjond$ ls



4Gb

BUT...

ubuntu@ubuntu:/media/4254e869-50a8-42ac-974b-df32c2f8c7d3/home/nnjond$ cd 4Gb

bash: cd: 4Gb: No such file or directory

ubuntu@ubuntu:/media/4254e869-50a8-42ac-974b-df32c2f8c7d3/home/nnjond$ cd /4Gb

bash: cd: /4Gb: No such file or directory

ubuntu@ubuntu:/media/4254e869-50a8-42ac-974b-df32c2f8c7d3/home/nnjond$

try cd "4Gb".

Also, it looks like this is mounted media so if it's fat32 which doesn't support filename cases, it may be the case is displayed incorrectly"

If using quotes alone doesn't work, try typing cd "4 and then use tab to autocomplete the rest.

So it would appear that you treat your cd and your cp commands very differently

cd:
Quote:
cd /media/4254e869-50a8-42ac-974b-df32c2f8c7d3/home/nnjond
cp:
Quote:
cp ubuntu@ubuntu:/media/4254e869-50a8-42ac-974b-df32c2f8c7d3/home/nnjond/4Gb
If you look at where the word 'media' is in each of the above I think you will see your issue.
