Permissions??
 

Okay...I've got VMWare working with win98, but I want to run a program that works off of COM1, and I think I know what the problem is...I don't have the right permissions to COM1? (i think)

I have 2 other windoze drives that i'm accessing via VMWare, my printer doesn't show up either...I've already
changed the partitions for the printer but it still doesn't work...

Any ideas...please help

Can someone tell me what the linux name for COM1 is.. like I know hda, hdb etc, are harddrives..what's the name for the com ports??

pretty sure it's stty0 no? s as in serial, tty as in erm..... *cough* ... ok?

I believe they are ttys0 1 2 3 in /dev no?

/dev/ttyS1
/dev/ttyS2

etc.

note the capital S

Woohoo! Thanks Alex....

I did learn that ttyS0 is COM1

but it works!!! I can now have my inhouse software running and still be
in Mandrake!!
