Permissions??
Sorry this is gonna be a stupid question. I usually dont use Red Hat, but I decided to switch to it insted of SUSE.
I now using RedHAt 9 and every time I try to install anything on root or normail user, i get... premession denied in the terminal... Where are the permissions or something so I can get full control?... thanks |
you get permission denied even as root? can you copy and paste the exact commands and output from the terminal?
|
but wait, i think i am just inputing the command wrong, so it doesnt know what to do... i think i have to makefile first then install.. but im quite lost. I am trying to install the PURE FTP server..

P.S. Why did u switch to such an old distro? Fedora Core 5 is the newest from Redhat/fedora tree. |
Bear in mind that the permissions of the directory determine if new files can be created or removed there.
