permission denied when executing my own script

I just made a script that will backup mysql databases, it has the following in it:

echo backing up databases...
/usr/local/mysql/bin/mysqldump -h localhost -A -u root -p12345678 >/data/shared/backup/server/databases/automysqlbackup.sql

I get -bash: ./backupdb.scr: Permission denied.

I assume this is a permission problem, how do I enable scripts to work in that folder? I made a folder called scripts and I'll call scripts directly from it to do various tasks easier.

did you make this script as root and try running as normal user ?!
check the permissions on the file, and see if that user you are running it as even has rights to run it !?

mount windows 2k share in linux - access denied

I have a win2k box that runs as administrator and has no password set and I'm trying to run the following command on linux but it asks for a password and I get access denied when I press enter:

smbmount //auclair/shared /network/auclair/shared username=administrator

Also, I tried to set a password (12345678) and tried this and got the same result:

smbmount //auclair/shared /network/auclair/shared username=administrator password=12345678

I assume I have some kind of configuration problem or maybe there's something more to it, any help would be appreciated, thanks!
