permission denied


hi i am very new to mandrake and am trying to install win32codecs from my console but when i type ./win32codecs.tar.bz2 it gives mw permission denied....i am the admin....i should have all priv shouldnt i? am i using the wrong command?

You need to unzip and untar it first.

rpmfind
You didn't install the developmental packages? As root, command:
urpmi gcc

try this command first:
#chmod +x <filename>

then try running it
