Unhappy Perl password change


When I attempt to generate a new password using the command:
perl -e ‘print crypt(“admin”, Ap)’

I get a syntax error, can some ont tell me where I went wrong?
bash: syntax error near unexpected token `('


I am running Debian Wheezy

You are using smart quotes. Don't. Use ' and " instead of ‘, “, ”, and ’.
