Here is my situation:
I have a perl script that allows connections via http that I wish to connect to.
When I try and connect to it on it's default port, 8080, it doesn't work. So I opened that port on my redhat system through the "security level" GUI manager. Still didn't work. So I set this script to run off port 80 (turned off apache first, and checked to make sure it wasn't using port 80). It worked!!!
What gives?
While im asking questions, I also wish to start this script at boot-time, probably will have to be as a seperate user-- I have NO idea how this would be done.
And finally, I only want this script to accept connections from localhost, if someone could point me in the right direction on that as well.
Thanks for the help
Greg
