Question "perl-5.8.0-88 cannot be opened"

I am in the middle of my first linux installation:

WinME and RedHat 9

I cannot get past this error:

"The package perl-5.8.0-88 cannot be opened. This is due to a missing file or perhaps a corrupt package"

I am writing the rpm file to a new cd will this work?
