penguin in slackware


why is it that when I start up slackware a penguing appears in the upper lefthand corner?

wat? u dun like it? personally i like it very much...

u can disable it by excluding the "vga=something" option for the kernel bootup in lilo.conf or grub.conf i think...

Basically on any resolution higher than the default (which is 640x480, iirc?), you get to see Tux in all his linux glory at the top of the screen

The penguing is kind of a symbol for Linux.

BTW. ...did you ask M$ about the stupid flag...
