Hi All,
is there any way to install ubuntu or any other distro on a pendrive the same way it is installed on a hardrive?
i used presistant method to install xubuntu in a pendrive: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-xub...stall-windows/
although i could add/remove packages but i still have problem with nvidia drivers.
is there any change to re-configure xorg for nvidia drivers?
Are you certain that you want to have Nvidia drivers installed? If you are going to use the pen drive on different computers they may not all have Nvidia hardware. In that case you would be better off using the open source graphic driver.
thanks for your replies
i think i could reconfigure Xorg to vesa if using the pendrive in different machine. does not matter which driver to use, the important think is to get the resolution for my wide screen laptop.
i have tried sabayon in pendrive, it was perfect. but still i want to know if i could install nvidia driver to (x)ubuntu?

After many years of struggling to get one Linux distribution to do something that another Linux distribution would do automatically I can only say use the one that works and leave the one that doesn't work. If Sabayon works then use it. Forget Xubuntu until they get it to work for you without it causing you a lot of work for it.
In other words, make Linux work for you, not the other way around.

you absolutely right, my only problem is the size of sabayon. it is a dvd 1.9 GB as i remember.
puppylinux is a good option as well. i tried it on multiple machines including my laptop, Xorg configured much better than xubuntu (on the laptop). except it makes me feel liking driving a compact car.
