pclinux getting online
Talking about a perplexing situation? I just installed Pclinux and after clicking every icon and other places I see no way to get on line with firefox. Firefox is installed.Don't make sense. Could it be that all of the OS was not installed?--no that would be impossible.

I just found out that I can get online. I clicked on a link within the desktop. I need to get a shortcut to Goggle on the desktop. can you help with that. I had Ubuntu 10.10 previously but now I have to learn another system all over again.I like the challange though. |
Do you have your KDE menu bar at the bottom? If not, it sounds like something might be wacky in your install...
KDE should be very straight forward, it's similar to Windows.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Pclos20092.jpg |
I have the PC round icon on the far left of the panel AKA taskbar that when clicked shows many items. Is that what you refer to?
EDIT: Well the shortcut things is solved. What would we do without Google? Thanks. Yes I found out how to create a shortcut to a URL on the desktop but surely there must be a better way. This procedure requires 11 clicks whereas Windows requires two. PC>favorites.file msg dolphin>click desktop>right click desktop>create new>enter a name>enter URL.then in order for it to work>right click the icon>permissions and tick OK to launch it. Phew!! |
