PCI-Express, What distro will work best, and what will be friendly to me?

Ok like the Subject says, ive got Pci-express...exact specs are shown at the end of the thread with links. To make matters worse in my case ive got an ATI card. Ive tried fedora core 3 and vidalinux along with Gentoo and all of them will eathier not boot, or freeze up on me (vidalinux being the only one to freeze on me). The cd's were copied and burned right as ive used them in other machines before and after i tried it on this computer. So my question is this, what distro would be friendly enough for me to use (easier the gentoo's installation), but would be able to work with PCI-Express?

Im downloading Mandrake right now, and a couple hours ago i downloaded Ubuntu....Ubuntu tho didnt have an actuall .iso file, it had a .rar file and a ton of folders inside of that...how do i make this an .iso?!

ANY help would be greatly appreciated....and yes, i am a

Thanks ahead of time

Mobo: DFI 915P-T12 here
CPU: Celeron D 325J here...nothing nice but it runs relaly well

I finally decided to instal FC 3.0 last night. I was a little concerned that it would freeze up or not be able to boot like it happened to you. To my surprise installation went well. Rebooted , created an user account and logged in with no problems. Did you run a media check on the iso's before installing?
