PCI based sound card drivers.

The integral sound circuit on our mother board has quit working. I attempted to replace it with a Creative Labs SB0200 in the only open PCI slot, but I can't find drivers for it except Windows or MAC OS. Do I need to buy another sound card or can I find the drivers elsewhere besides the CL website?

The drivers are part of the kernel. It will work out of the box.

OK, so I guess I should just what, reboot the machine and see if it works?

Yes, just boot it up. Hopefully you shut it down before installing the sound card.

does not hurt to go into bios and disable onboard sound too

Hey Folks! Thanks for all the replies. I got it working great! And yes I did shut down and unplug before I installed the board, but thanks for the follow up. What I couldn't figure out was why it wouldn't function even though the new board showed in the box. As it turns out I had to flick through all the tabs to select it.
