pauses in between boot while starting sendmail


my computer pause in between while starting the sendmail option at boot time.....what's the solution????

Well, a few more details might be a good idea to start with! However, if I understand your question, the boot process hangs at the MTA startup. If this is the case, make sure that DNS works properly (can the box resolve all names to addresses properly), make sure that the port the MTA is listening to is up and active before you try to start the MTA, and check your MTA configuration is right
