patch command missing

Hi there,

I'm new here....

I have a question...... Why is the redhat 7.3 (kernel 2.4.18-3) do not have the patch command in the /bin or /sbin..

I have installed the kernel-source rpm and now the /usr/src has the linux kernel file there.

Again, my question is where can I get the patch command???

Is there an rpm for it??? I try to look it up on the net with no success???

Please Help.... I don't want to really reinstall the OS again....

Thanks..

Hi, and welcome to LQ!

I'd suggest querying the package management tool
for its location. I'm sure it's on one of your CDs.

Cheers,
Tink

It should be available on your CD, called patch-<version>.rpm
Probably a part of development tools not installed by default in RH..not sure.
