Password resetting


can i crack or reset or hack or recover linux root password using knoppix live cd as well as can i crack windows xp/vista administrator password using knoppix live cd???if i can then plz help me out???
hope to get answer from ur side...

clearly not an intro. moved to Linux - Newbie.

you can not "recover" the password outide of a dictionary attack of md5 database, but you can easily remove or replace it. we aren't here to help you crack passwords though...
