Password protected folder on a shared pc.....?


Hi friends....

I want to know how can i make a folder in Cent OS linux password protected.
Is there a way to do it??

Sorry, i am a newbie so if i am asking stupid question excuse me.

Well,

Linux by default doesn't share any folders, so to have shared files/folders you will need to use Samba (another example, sharing tips).
Then in Samba you will configure which/what is protected (and which users are allowed).
